Tochukwu Itumo is an Associate at Oyewole & Adesina.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2014. He is a candidate for the award of a Masters of Law degree from the University of Lagos, Akoka.
Tochukwu is a seasoned lawyer with over 10 years of practice experience in corporate/commercial law and litigation. He advises companies in the banking, fintech, energy, and real estate sectors on issues bordering on debt recovery, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate insolvency and liquidation. He has helped corporate clients to develop an effective compliance manual in line with sector regulations. He also provides secretarial services to public, private and listed companies, ensuring regulatory compliance in their general, board and committee meetings, statutory filings, and internal policies. He has also provided legal services to the investment committee of a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) in Nigeria.
He is a member of the Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria, and has acquired practical boardroom and litigation experiences in corporate debt recovery, corporate re-organisation and winding-up proceedings. He has represented the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria on matters bordering on debt recovery, assets tracing and seizure, company liquidation, debt compromise and settlements.
With substantial experience in corporate/commercial practice and litigation, Tochukwu is equipped with the resources and skillset to address clients’ interests using business-oriented methods and strategies.
Tochukwu is an active member of legal and corporate professional bodies such as the Nigerian Bar Association, the Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners’ Association of Nigeria, and the Capital Market Solicitors’ Association.
